Our nation was devastated by a tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of some of Ghana’s most dedicated public servants and gallant officers. I am deeply heartbroken by this loss.
We mourn the passing of Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, our Minister for Defence; Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central; Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; and Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC. Alongside them, we lost Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate, and three brave military officers: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
These were not just names and titles, they were men of honour, vision, and selfless service. Each of them carried a part of Ghana’s mission for peace, stability, and progress. Their lives were woven into the fabric of our national story, and their absence leaves a huge void.
As we mourn together, may we also reflect on their courage and the deep responsibility they bore for our country. May their families be comforted. And may their memories endure not just in grief, but in the pride of a nation that will never forget them.
May their souls rest in perfect peace.
