Ghana Showcases Success of UNIDO-Japan Kaizen Project in Vienna

Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Republic of Ghana to the United Nations Office and other International Organisations in Vienna participated in the pre-closure event of the “Expanding the Kaizen Initiative by Enhancing Sustainable Agribusiness” project, implemented by UNIDO and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) with funding from the Government of Japan.

The four-year initiative (2022–2026) has supported Ghanaian MSMEs to improve productivity and competitiveness through Kaizen and U-SPARK, UNIDO’s digital solution for real-time monitoring and data-driven production management.

Ghana was represented by Mr. Noah Tumfo, Chief Director, Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Ms. Margaret Ansei, CEO of Ghana Enterprises Agency and Mr. Paul Nana Sei Osei, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Ghana in Vienna.

The event highlighted the project’s alignment with Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy and its contribution to productivity, digital transformation and industrial development. Discussions also focused on scaling up the initiative, including a proposed second phase and positioning GEA as a regional centre of excellence for Kaizen as well as digital transformation in West Africa.
