The 68th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) Vienna, Austria, 10th to 14th March, 2025, underscored the need for multilateral cooperation, evidence-based approaches, and structural reforms in global drug control systems. My statement focused on aligning drug policies with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and advocated for humane, evidence-based approaches to drug prevention and treatment. I presented Ghana’s reforms under the Narcotics Control Commission Act (2020), addressing legislative challenges, inequitable access to essential medicines, and synthetic drug trafficking.
