62nd Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC) of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS)

Vienna, 3rd to 14th February, 2025:

The Ambassador delivered a national statement emphasizing the peaceful uses of outer space and equitable access. She acknowledged the support of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in the drafting of Ghana’s space law and capacity-building efforts.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Ambassador was a panelist at a UNOOSA-Japan side event on digital twin technology during which she highlighted the potential of this technology in addressing challenges experienced by flood-prone areas such as Akosombo Dam and Keta. Ghana should witness enhanced collaboration with UNOOSA to address the challenges posed by climate change.
