On Saturday, 26th April 2025, H.E. Ambassador Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman addressed the Ghanaian community in Graz and its environs at a special general meeting. Held in Austria’s historic city of Graz, renowned for its blend of medieval and modern architecture, vibrant academic institutions and leadership in sustainability, the gathering brought together elders, youth, professionals, and families for an afternoon of reflection and renewed purpose. The Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the Embassy and the Government of Ghana, acknowledged the community’s ongoing efforts to preserve Ghanaian culture and unity abroad, and highlighted the country’s growing global stature, including its leadership roles at the UN and IAEA.
The Ambassador further emphasized the importance of diaspora contributions to national development through investment, skills transfer and cultural promotion. She reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to improving consular services and supporting initiatives that empower youth and women. The Mission and members of the community present at the meeting underscored the need to bridge the trade and investment gap between the two countries, with a view to supporting the efforts of Ghana government. Encouraging open dialogue and active engagement, the Ambassador urged the community to uphold the values of discipline, cooperation, and national pride, and to continue serving as goodwill ambassadors for Ghana within Austrian society. The event concluded with a renewed sense of unity and optimism for collective advancement.
