Compass-Joint Review of Nuclear Safeguards Related Regulations of Ghana

A Joint Review workshop on Nuclear Law and Safeguards related Regulations of Ghana took place from 11th -14th February, 2025 at the Vienna International Centre, Vienna, Austria.

Participants from the Safeguards Training Section and, Non-Proliferation and Policy-Making Section of the IAEA, the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of Ghana, Attorney General’s Department of Ghana and the Ghana Permanent Mission took part in the four days workshop.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman observed that the Joint Review Workshop marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s ongoing commitment to the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and the robust control and safeguarding of nuclear materials.

She noted that the strong collaboration with the IAEA was a testament to Ghana’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation.
