It was a pleasure to engage with colleagues and partners at the 63rd Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the COPUOS in Vienna from 2nd to 13th February, 2026.
For Ghana, these discussions connect directly to how we harness space innovation for climate resilience and sustainable development. I highlighted the digital twin pilot for Accra under the CommonSpace Initiative and ongoing work with partners to expand applications, including in coastal areas such as Keta, as well as Ghana’s participation in the African Development Satellite initiative as an example of African-led cooperation.
On the margins, I joined fellow delegates at a reception hosted by Japan, engaging on innovation and Japanese space technologies, including with SpaceData, whose collaboration supports Ghana’s digital twin efforts. We also welcomed reflections on Italy’s chairmanship priorities, particularly capacity-building and preparations toward UNISPACE IV.
Ghana remains committed to advancing cooperation for a peaceful, inclusive and sustainable space future.
