Your Excellencies, distinguished guests, fellow art enthusiasts, ladies and gentlemen.
It is a distinct honour and privilege to join you this evening at the Continent Art exhibition, an occasion that not only celebrates creative excellence, but also affirms the enduring cultural connections that bind our nations and citizens.
Tonight’s exhibition, under the inspiring theme Continent Art, offers a platform for reflection, for connection, and for the powerful expression of identity. The works of Solomon Okpurukhre and Ryan Hefnawy, two (2) artists with deep ties to Africa and its diasporas, remind us of the profound stories that art can tell. Through brushstrokes, textures, and vision, they give voice to heritage, to memory and to our shared aspirations.
As Ghana’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, I am particularly pleased to see this cultural initiative brought to life through partnership between the Embassies of Ghana and Egypt, and with the support of our friends and hosts here in Vienna.
Ghana remains committed to promoting cultural diplomacy and creative collaboration as pillars of our foreign policy. We firmly believe that the arts are not merely a reflection of society, they are instruments of change, unity and resilience. In a world where division often captures headlines, events such as this offer a refreshing reminder that there is more that unites us than divides us.
Let me take this opportunity to commend the organisers and supporters of this event for their vision and dedication, and to salute the artists for sharing their gifts with us. May this evening inspire new conversations, deeper understanding and greater appreciation for the diversity and dynamism of African and international artistic expression.
Thank you and I wish you all a truly enriching experience.
