This Christmas with my compatriots at two separate events truly exemplified the spirit of Christmas for my children (Amaris & Antonio) and I.
On the 25th, the Akan Catholic Community, Vienna welcomed us to a Christmas/nativity performance and breaking of bread together in the spirit of the season. I felt at home as a practicing catholic.
On the 27th of December, for the first time in 20 years, the Union of Ghanaian Nationals in Austria (UGNA) held its end-of-year party and we were honoured to be part of this joyous occasion. It was sheer joy and excitement, symbolic of the adage that Christmas is a time for families to unwind, celebrate and bond.
We called on each other to reflect on the challenges and blessings of the past year, look forward to a prosperous 2026 with renewed inspiration and success not only for ourselves but for mother Ghana and for strengthening Ghana/Austria relations.
