The Ambassador, H.E. Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman has been expressed her honour for the role she played as the moderator of the High/level Session of the Global Fraud Summit (16th-17th March 2026, under the the theme: “Turning the tide: from commitment to action” on the first day. This high-level session set the strategic tone for the Global Fraud Summit by presenting an overview of the current and evolving global fraud landscape and facilitating high-level exchanges on how to translate political commitments into concrete impact. It provided the stage for global leaders to discuss priorities and challenges, align responses, and advance solutions, including through the formal announcement of the Call to Action on Combatting Fraud, which identifies key actions to tackle fraud.
The session presented the current and evolving global fraud landscape based on INTERPOL threat assessments and UNODC research, to inform priority-setting and policymaking against fraud. It presented priorities and responses to fraud, fostering dialogue on common challenges, emerging risks, and opportunities for coordinated and complementary action across jurisdictions. The session also encouraged cross-regional exchange of experiences, lessons learned, and approaches, reinforcing the importance of evidence-based, cooperative, and impact-oriented responses to fraud. Furthermore, we highlighted the key actions in the Call to Action on Combatting Fraud and encouraged countries to make individual pledges on collective, practical steps to address fraud.
The high-level Davos-style panel discussion saw panelists: Rt. Hon Lord Hanson of Flint, Minister of State at the Home Office, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mr. Magnus Brunner, European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, Ms. Candice Welsch, Director of the Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs of UNODC, Mr. Valdecy Urquiza, Secretary General of INTERPOL, Ms. Marie-Pierre Vedrenne, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Interior, in charge of Citizenship, of France.
