The Ambassador and Permanent Representative, Excellency Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman joined the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Honourable Samuel Nartey George (MP), who led Ghana’s delegation to the Signing Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, held in Hanoi, Viet Nam (25th–26th October 2025).
The event marked a historic milestone in the international community’s collective effort to establish a unified global framework for combating cybercrime and strengthening cooperation for a safer, more secure and trusted digital world.
Other members of the delegation were the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, the Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Mr. Divine Agbeti and Counsellor at the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Ghana in Vienna, Ms. Lauretta Samira Saaka.
By joining 71 other countries in signing this landmark Convention, Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to upholding digital trust, protecting citizens online and strengthening national and international collaboration against cyber-enabled crimes.

Adopted under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Convention represents the first-ever global treaty dedicated to addressing all forms of cybercrime, from online fraud and hacking to the misuse of digital platforms, while safeguarding human rights and promoting international cooperation in law enforcement, justice and capacity-building.
By participating in this landmark event, Ghana reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to advancing multilateralism, digital security and responsible global cooperation in the fight against cybercrime.
