Ghana & Austria Advance Strategic Partnership

In a historic milestone since the opening of the Mission in November 2020, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Republic of Ghana in Vienna received its first high-level visit from an Austrian Government official.

On Friday, 13th February, 2026, the Ambassador hosted, at the Chancery, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Mr. Josef Franz Schellhorn, as part of preparations to advance collaboration between our two countries through the Second Round of Political Consultations scheduled for Accra in February 2026.

Other members of the delegation from the BMEIA included the Deputy Chief of the Office of the State Secretary, Mr. Christian Autengruber and the Director for Sub-Saharan Africa and the African Union at the BMEIA, Mr. Stefan Scholz. While my team was made up of the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Paul Nana Sei Osei, Counsellor, Ms. Lauretta Samira Saaka and First Secretary/Political & Economic, Mr. Kpanyi Nyamikeh.
