H.E. Ambassador Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, Ghana’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Austria, received a courtesy call on 19th August 2025, from the leadership of the Church of Pentecost (CoP) Austria at the Embassy in Vienna
The Church of Pentecost Austria, established in 1995, now comprises 11 local assemblies across seven cities. The National Head, Apostle James Otchere, briefed the Mission on the Church’s activities, which go beyond worship to include charity initiatives, youth camps and professional networking programmes aimed at supporting Ghanaians in Austria.
In the discussions, the Embassy emphasised its role in promoting legal migration pathways, supporting nationals through consular services and fostering economic development. The Ambassador also underlined the importance of religious communities in providing spiritual guidance, community cohesion and youth engagement.
The Church highlighted its commitment to holistic ministry and community service, while raising practical concerns such as visa application processes and access to the Ghana Card.
The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to clearer communication and pledged to continue engaging with community organisations to address the welfare needs of Ghanaians.
Both sides agreed to work together on:
• Expanding scholarship and professional networking opportunities for Ghanaian youth in Austria;
• Strengthening Embassy–Church cooperation on consular and welfare issues;
• Organising joint community initiatives to promote cultural exchange and support Ghanaian nationals.
The Ambassador commended the Church of Pentecost Austria for its decades of service to the Ghanaian community and welcomed further collaboration to uplift Ghanaians in Austria and deepen Ghana–Austria relations.
