Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Ghana H.E Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman presented her credentials to Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Tuesday, 17th December, 2024.
The Director General welcomed Ambassador Osei-Agyeman to Austria and congratulated her on her appointment as the first female Ambassador of Ghana to the IAEA. He commended Ghana for being one of the few countries in Sub-Saharan Africa making strides in her nuclear energy sector. He praised Ghana for her leadership role in IAEA matters, particularly on the IAEA’s Board of Governors and as Chair of the Board.
Ambassador Osei-Agyeman in response, commended the Director General for his sterling leadership at the IAEA and the launch of critical initiatives like Atoms4Food, Rays of Hope, NUPTEC Plastic, ZODIAC etc and expressed Ghana’s preparedness and interest in expanding the frontier of its relations and cooperations with the IAEA.
